Hi,
I'm Captain Bernie Lefebvre. I am a 45 year native of
the Fort Walton Beach - Destin area, now known as the Emerald Coast. I was fortunate enough to be brought
here in 1966 when my military father was stationed at Eglin AFB. With the
great beaches, and opportunity to grow up around the waters of the Gulf of
Mexico, it wasn't long before I found a love for fishing. As a child I would
go fishing in the Gulf with my Dad and friends, and as a teenager, I did a
lot of fishing on the inland waterways. I became associated to the
Destin charter boat business in 1984 when a friend and his father owned and
operated charter boats out of Destin. While going to college I was given the
opportunity to learn and work as a deckhand. Even though I was going through
college to pursue another profession I developed this insatiable desire to
be a fishing boat Captain. In 1988 I
obtained my bachelors degree in Computer Science. I accepted a job in the
Computer career which lasted 15 years, but I was always drawn back to fishing.
I was fortunate during that time to be able to fish with my charter Captain
friend, and also on a private boat with my brother-in-law and nephews. We
fished many offshore bill-fishing tournaments, resulting in finding my true
fishing love, offshore trolling. I enjoy all types of fishing, but enjoy
mostly sport-fishing and light tackle. I have also spent the last 20 years
fishing, and specializing in the spring Cobia run as they migrate along our
beaches. The greatest thing about fishing is the FUN and Excitement it can
provide. That's what it's all about. After all, it's called fishing not
catching. Whether you catch fish or not, it's fun to go out on the water and
try.
I invite you to have fun and come fish with me. I can personally take you on a charter boat or guide you on you're own vessel. You can check out my personal fishing portfolio page from my years of fishing. |
